Sony has announced a price cut for the PSP in Europe, with the handheld dropping from €169.99 to €129.99, but UK consumers are out of luck.

SCE UK has confirmed to VG247 that us Brits aren’t going to see a price cut. It’s all down to a favourable exchange rate between the euro and the yen.

“Since we in the UK are vulnerable to two exchange rate calculations, pounds into euro and euro into yen, we are not in a position to offer a similar cut in PSP for the UK,” said Sony.

While UK consumers miss out, you might be better off holding on to your cash for the NGP, which is going to launch in at least one territory this year. Rumours had the new handheld arriving in the UK before Christmas.
