Sony has chosen not to confirm whether DriveClub’s PS Plus Edition will launch in the UK tomorrow as originally planned.

The North American launch of the free edition was “temporarily” delayed earlier this week in an effort to resolve server issues currently being experienced by the game.

But when asked by VideoGamer.com this morning if it could confirm whether the PS Plus Edition will make it in time for its UK launch tomorrow, SCEE reiterated comments from developer Evolution and suggested that the delay could apply to all territories.

“The team at the studio are working around the clock to resolve the issue and are rolling out updates day by day to increase the numbers,” said the statement provided to VideoGamer.com. “In order to help all DRIVECLUB players get off to the best start while we keep working on this, we’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition and the My DRIVECLUB app to ease the load and traffic to the servers. This should give players a better chance of connecting to the game servers.

“The DRIVECLUB servers are global, so this will apply to all territories.”

Evolution said this morning that the game’s servers were operating on a one in, one out policy having reached their full capacity.

A revised ETA for the PS Plus Edition has yet to be provided, although those who purchase the full game digitally or on disc will still receive access to the game tomorrow.

“We hope you can enjoy the game offline while we work to improve the server performance and get you connected – and we’re sorry that you’re having to wait to play the game online as we intended for it to be played,” said Evolution.
