UPDATE: SCEE has provided VideoGamer.com with the following statement in response to Sulun’s comments: “At no time have we announced that The Last of US is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject.”

ORIGINAL REPORT: The Last of Us will release on PlayStation 4 this summer, according to comments made by PlayStation Eurasia software market manager Sercan Sulun on Turkish website Multiplayer (translated by IGN).

Sulun allegedly stated that, while there is currently “no information about a new The Last of Us game… as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically.

“The PS4 version will also include the DLC,” he added, “so you will be able to play ‘Left Behind’ as well.”

Sony has yet to formally announce plans to launch The Last of Us on PS4. However, back in October, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said that the developer had “no plans” to develop a next-gen port.

The game first launched on PS3 last June and went on to win five BAFTAs at this month’s BAFTA Games Awards.

VideoGamer.com has contacted SCEE for clarification on Sulun’s comments.
