Wired’s Game Life snagged a demo of PlayStation Home earlier this week and it appears Home – the open beta at least – won’t feature the ability to watch videos with other Home users.

The ability to get together with friends and watch movies together in your virtual apartment has been one of the most talked about features of Home and its absence will likely be a disappointment to many PS3 owners.

PlayStation Home director Jack Buser told Game Life that Sony was “looking into” adding the feature, but noted that the company’s approach to user-generated content would be akin to a “Lego-block” structure – users will be given parts and will be free to create what they want from a set of tools.

The PlayStation Home open beta is expected to launch later this year.
