Nintendo plans to continue selling its Nintendo DS hardware, despite reports to the contrary.
Reports that Nintendo has ceased production of its DS hardware emerged after the firm chose not to forecast any sales for the system for fiscal 14.
However, it appears life remains in the system which arrived back in November 2004.
“Nintendo will continue to sell Nintendo DS Hardware but is not revealing a unit sales forecast at this time,” Nintendo explained in a press release today.
Asked for clarification if DS production had ceased, Nintendo of Europe replied to VideoGamer.com with the same statement.
2.35 million DS hardware units were sold during the 2013 fiscal year, with the vast majority – 2.11m – sold in the US.
