Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black are without doubt a showcase for the Xbox, delivering tough as nails gameplay and, for the time, simply jaw dropping visuals. It came as a bit of a surprise then when it was revealed that the first next-gen game in the Ninja Gaiden series was headed to the PlayStation 3 and not the Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma isn’t actually an all-new game but is a remake of Ninja Gaiden Black, itself a remake of the first Xbox Ninja Gaiden. It does, however, look remarkably pretty and has left Xbox 360 owners a little jealous.

There have been rumours that the game is also coming to Microsoft’s next-gen platform but in a soon to be published interview with CVG, the game’s director Yosuke Hayashi has revealed that “it is just a rumour.

While not outright denying Sigma is coming to the Xbox 360, it does look unlikely.
