Social-gaming behemoth Zynga is being sued by web developer SocialApps for alleged “copyright infringement, violation of trade secrets, breach of written contract, breach of implied-in-face contract, and breach of confidence” over the source code for the hit Facebook game Farmville, according to Patent Arcade.

The developer is arguing that Zynga failed to compensate SocialApps after receiving the MyFarm source code.

SocialApps is seeking a permanent injunction, damages, attorney’s fees, as well as profits from Zynga’s Farmville title.

Zynga is currently valued at nearly $20 billion USD. It is rumoured the game developer recently offered to buy game studio PopCap for $1 billion before losing out to EA.
