The sequel to best-selling dance game Zumba Fitness is slated for release this winter in North America, Majesco Entertainment has announced. There’s currently no firm news of a UK release, but given the success of the first game it’s a certainty.

While no exact date is confirmed, this next iteration of Zumba will have additional features not seen in the original game.

The game will feature 20 dance styles which include the usual suspects of Reggaeton and Salsa as seen in the previous game, as well as all new styles that range from Bellydancing to Latin Pop to “Axe”.

You will also be able to customise your dance experience by crafting your own musical playlists in Zumba Class Mode, by choosing one of the five new locations as your backdrop, or by inviting up to four friends to join you in Zumba Party Mode.

Step-by-step tutorials will be made available along with help from celebrity instructors Beto, Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant who will guide you through each dance.

Zumba 2 will be released for Wii this winter to be followed on another platform early in 2012.

If you don’t know the name Zumba you might recognise it by its other title, “that game that ousted Portal 2 from top spot on the UK chart”. And if you don’t know the dance style called “Axe” then you and I are in the same boat.
