Konami has staple-gunned a September 6 release date to its upcoming Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner remaster on PlayStation 4 and PC.
The game is a modern revamp of Hideo Kojima's classic 2003 mech-blasting actioner, and is fully compatible with PlayStation VR thanks to 2nd Runner's new first-person VR mode.
Of course, being a remaster the game features a host of flashy visual enhancements, including 4K resolution support and generally looking much better than it did 15 years ago. There's also a new very easy mode, a 3D model viewer, a cinematic theatre, and a chance to poke around in the Jehuty hangar.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner was remastered in high-definition back in 2012 as part of the Zone of the Enders HD Collection.
Kojima-san had planned to develop a sequel at some point, though sadly those plans were scrapped back in 2013.
