Based on the new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller sees players allocated a room in the Duel Academy’s Obelisk Dormitory, where the beginner duellists are sent.

During the player’s time in the Academy, you’ll encounter spectral forms which are revealed to be the ‘Spirits of the Cards’. With the aid of the spirit the player must take on the Academy’s best duellists.

Since Nightmare Troubadour (the previous game in the series), the pace of duelling has been increased, making for a much faster game, and the handheld’s stylus and touch screen have been utilised for setting various trap and monster cards.

Thanks to the Wi-Fi capabilities of the DS, players will be able to duel against each other in one-on-one bouts, be it against someone sitting opposite you, or someone based on the other side of the world.

To further enhance the game, players will be able to use the all-new character editor menu to create an on-screen likeness for use in the game and for your opponents to see.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller for the Nintendo DS is scheduled for release in Europe in February 2007.
