GAME customers are now able to spend gift cards on the retailer’s website and buy games from third-party marketplace sellers, judging by updates made to the website today.

The updates suggest that customers can now trade their old games in-store and walk away with a gift card to spend online, where titles can occasionally be found slightly cheaper.

GAME says that gift cards can be used to purchase “most of our products we stock online and in all of our GAME UK stores”.

You’re also able to purchase games through third-party sellers, too, in a new initiative the retailer calls the ‘GAME Marketplace’. According to the retailer’s FAQ, however, games can only be sold by authorised businesses, meaning you can’t sell your old games on the website yourself.

GAME says that marketplace sellers can sell a “mix of new and preowned items”, which can be bought with all payment types accepted by GAME, including gift cards and reward points.

Reward card holders will also earn reward points on orders placed through the GAME Marketplace.

Perhaps most interesting of all, however, is the option to purchase import games through the Marketplace.

“As part of the product description the seller will indicate if the item being sold is imported from another region,” GAME says. “They will also include what region the game is from, with the majority of import games coming from Japan and America, as well as if the game is region locked.”
