SEGA has released a new gameplay trailer for Yakuza Kiwami, showing  off the game’s different fighting styles and some of the things Kiryu can get up to in Kamurocho. Yakuza Kiwami is a graphically enhanced remake of the original Yakuza game that came out on PlayStation 2.

Outside of the story there are a plethora of things for Kiryu to get up to, including karaoke, pool, pocket circuit car racing and even dating. Kiryu, you casanova. Along with this new trailer comes the announcement of the Yakuza Experience website, where you can mess about with the interactive timeline, character map, read an interactive comic and learn more about the history of the Yakuza, the characters featured in the game and the families who’re in power. So loads of exposition, should you wish to have a look.

Yakuza Kiwami also comes with many additions over the original PS2 title, including nearly 30 minutes of cutscenes expanding on the game’s story and clearing up plot-holes from  the original, more new mini games to play, additional side-quests and re-recorded Japanese dialogue. One of the most amusing additions is the new Majima Everywhere system, where the series’ deranged one-eyed maniac and Kiryu’s chief rival constantly surprises (even popping out of costumes) and challenges Kiryu to combat when the player least expects it.

Yakuza Kiwami  follows the adventures and antics of Kiryu after he’s released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. In the time he was locked up, different factions of the Yakuza are at war, and he finds himself right in the thick of it.

Yakuza Kiwami is due to release on August 29 for PS4.
