Cowcat has announced that indie darling Xenon Valkyrie+ will be winging its way to PS4 and Xbox One next month. The award-winning roguelike platformer was previously released on PS Vita, and will now hit Sony and Microsoft’s flagship consoles on February 20 and February 21, respectively.
Xenon Valkyrie+ is a spruced up version of the original PC release, and is sure to appeal to retro enthusiasts with its pixel art, bangin’ chip tune soundtrack, and old-school gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, it’ll be fully enhanced for consoles with a healthy dose of extra content.
For those scratching their heads, Xenon Valkyrie sees players cruising through a randomly generated world while scooping up oodles of weapons and doing battle with countless enemies. Apparently there’s a ‘legendary story’ to be told in there somewhere, as you rub shoulders with various characters and level up in an attempt to wield the ‘amazing power of the Xenon Valkyrie!’ That last bit means sod all to us, but it sure reads nice all the same.
