Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will launch exclusively on New Nintendo 3DS on April 2, Nintendo has announced.

The game will only be compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL consoles releasing on February 13. It will not work with existing 3DS models.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a handheld remake of the critically-acclaimed Wii JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles and takes advantage of the 3DS’s second screen to let players view maps and character stats.

The 3DS version also contains an exclusive mode that lets players listen to the soundtrack and view 3D models of the game’s characters.
