Nintendo showed over eight minutes of footage of its upcoming RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2, thankfully I watched it so you didn’t have to. The voice-acting is beyond awful, but the rest of the game does look alright, and there’s a rather nice-looking Switch Pro Controller coming out that. It’ll be out in the UK on December 1, so it’s not that far away at all.

The trailer gives us our first look at the Titans, some of the game’s locations and introduces some of the characters you’ll come across. What follows are plenty of declarations of anger, the waving of swords, shouting and very anime hair… oh, and some flames, because it’s getting hot in here.

While Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a sequel, it’ll feature a new world and a new cast of characters. So kind of like the Final Fantasy series of games then. Players take control of Rex and his new friend Pyra, who live in the cloudy world of Alrest. They’re both searching for a legendary paradise called Elysium, and it’s a race against time because the world of Alrest is decaying and collapsing. The game takes place amongst the cloudy skies, where the last of humanity live on the backs of colossal beasts known as Titans.

Monolith Soft’s much-revered RPG series will be coming to the Switch just in time for Christmas. There’ll also be a Special Edition of the game, which comes with a CD soundtrack and a large 220-page art book. If the game doesn’t quite take your fancy, there’s always the special edition Xenoblade Chronicles 2 branded Switch Pro Controller, which  looks pretty decent to be fair.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and will be out on December 1.
