XCOM 2 is almost upon us, strategy fans of the world rejoice. The anticipated sequel is coming to PCs only, and sets the action 20 years ahead of the previous game. But is it any good? Is Xcom 2 just as hardcore as before? Jim thinks it’s more accessible, easing players in a bit more than previous games. Mechanically it’s pretty much the same, but the narrative turns the tables on the XCOM program itself. This changes the tenor of the game, making things seem more desperate than before according to Jim.
This is very much a PC game, and there’s no console version being discussed yet as far as we know, but hardcore PC games often make their way onto other platforms, as is the case with DiRT Rally which Dave and Jim previewed earlier in the week. Check out some 60fps footage here.
