When it comes to gaming cakes we’ve seen a fair few over the years, but the cake created by 2K to celebrate the launch of XCOM 2 may just have taken the crown for the most impressive we’ve ever seen.
Covering the sponge are lots of tiny fondant icing skulls to form the alien head. It’s both a great piece of design and also totally terrifying. You’ll recognise the image from much of the game’s artwork.

For cake enthusiasts, 2K also confirmed that the entire cake head is edible, with the shoulders being an inedible base.
XCOM 2 is out today for PC and it’s pretty darn good.
