Xbox consoles are in short supply in the US, it was revealed this week. It seems Microsoft underestimated the demand for the machine over the holiday period, where it sold significantly more than expected.

Microsoft has said that they are ‘working with partners to rectify the situation’, but have yet to tell us how long they expect this situation to last. Whether or not this shortage will effect Europe is another question, however with US still leading the rest of the world in Xbox sales, it’s doubtful.

Despite the setback, this is positive news for Microsoft, who were able to up their expected user-base from 20 million to 22 million by June of this year.
