The latest Xbox One system update is available to download now, introducing Game Hubs, controller improvements, party chat upgrades, and additional functionality for Live TV.
Game Hubs let players keep track of various statistics linked to specific titles and compare their records to friends directly from the dashboard. You’ll also be able to see the latest DLC releases and news on upcoming updates, along with game clips and broadcasts. Think of it as a new way to keep up with the latest info on your favourite games.
Meanwhile, the connection time for Xbox One controllers has been slashed in half, with controllers now said to connect to the console in roughly two seconds. Prior to the update connecting a controller took 4-5 seconds. The update should reduce the amount of controller disconnects experienced by some players, too.
Elsewhere, the Live TV OneGuide now tracks trending shows on Xbox and Twitter, although you’ll only be able to use the Twitter functionality if you live in the United States.
Party chat has been updated, too, with new icons detailing the connection status of your party, redesigned notifications and improved connection times.
And if you’ve been asking for dashboard tiles to be made more transparent so you can see more of your custom background, your wish has just been granted.
