A fix for an issue causing screen judder while watching TV on Xbox One is due to be released “within a matter of weeks”, according to Xbox UK marketing director Harvey Eagle.
“I can’t give you a specific date today, but I can tell you definitely that that issue will be resolved within a matter of weeks as one of the updates that we make to the console,” Eagle told CVG.
“I’m happy to confirm that that will be Spring time frame. I can’t be more specific than that, but it’s weeks, not months. It’s important and we’re excited to get that fixed as quickly as possible.”
Eagle’s comments suggest that the fix could be implemented with next month’s Xbox One firmware update, which is also due to improve the console’s friends and party system.
The playback problem is thought to be linked to the console’s output settings, which forces 50Hz PAL content to be displayed at 60Hz, leading to a judder effect.
A similar problem is also believed to affect streaming services, including Netflix.
