Microsoft has done a pretty decent job at fleshing out its Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup as of late, and it seems it was worth it too: Gamers have notched up almost one billion hours playing Xbox and Xbox 360 games on the console to date, the format holder has announced.

No doubt Phil Spencer and co will feel pretty chuffed at this figure, as backwards compatibility was met with some initial scepticism from gamers upon its original announcement. However, considering the figure stood at 508 million last June, it's evident that people are lapping up the nostalgia.

Microsoft has recently been buffing its lineup of original Xbox games for backwards compatibility, with 19 titles including Destroy All Humans and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords now up for grabs. Hopefully we'll see more support for games released on Microsoft's original bulky box of tricks in the coming months.

Elsewhere, there's a few other interesting stats to digest. Xbox One X enhanced games have reached the 200 mark, and players have launched more than 1.2 million Clubs on Xbox Live. Finally, Mixer has now reached the 10 million active users milestone. All in all, not too shabby eh?
