Xbox One format holder Microsoft has announced that it will be shaking up its Xbox Live Rewards program this Summer, with the feature set to be assimilated within the Microsoft Rewards initiative.

The company confirmed that the changes will roll out in June in North America, with other regions having already done so or are planning on doing so at a later date. You’ll see a notification of the change pop up when you have a gander at the Xbox Live Rewards website.

Unlike before, the Microsoft Rewards program will dish our rewards for more than just Xbox-related goodies, with movies, TV, Bing searches, and Microsoft & retail store purchases now part of the all-encompassing package.

The hardware giant revealed that any remaining Xbox Live Reward Credits or MyVip Gems in your account by May 31 will be converted into Reward Points or your local currency before being transferred into your Microsoft account by the end of June. After this, you will have 12 months to spend the balance, with one Reward Point or MyVip Gem equal to a single Microsoft Reward Point.

‘Similar to Xbox Live Rewards, Microsoft Rewards will offer punch cards, surveys, and more, plus featured offers on games, movies, and TV shows, but the way you access these offers and how you’re able to use your earned points is changing. In addition, you’ll also have the opportunity to earn bonus points on your purchases in the Microsoft Store on Xbox or on Windows, or in retail Microsoft Store locations where available,’ said the company.

Microsoft is offering a full FAQ on the changes on its official website, so give it a look for the full skinny.Â
