Beginning on May 8 at 8am GMT and running until Monday, May 15, Microsoft will be adding plenty of new content to Xbox Live Marketplace to tie in with E3. A high definition trailer for Gears of War, and a playable demo of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition are just two of the 60+ new pieces of content being added to Marketplace over E3. During the week, Xbox Live is completely free, giving gamers the chance to take part in Game with Fame multiplayer sessions with the likes of Method Man and Jenny McCarthy.

Microsoft has confirmed that the following titles will have downloadable demos and/or trailers added to Marketplace during the E3 week:

  • Test Drive: Unlimited (Atari)
  • Moto GP ’06 (THQ)
  • Crackdown (Microsoft Game Studios)
  • Dead or Alive : Xtreme 2 (Tecmo)
  • The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle Earth II (EA Los Angeles)
  • Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Capcom)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega)
  • Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Ubisoft)
  • Viva Piñata (Microsoft Game Studios)
  • Plus a flood of HD trailers from games that have yet to be announced

Also released will be some new Multiplayer Map Packs for Call of Duty 2, UNO will be added to Xbox Live Arcade, more high-definition movie trailers, limited edition E3 Gamer pics and Themes and a backstage pass to see the developers preparing for E3.

While the list of games to receive downloads looks impressive, we can’t help but think that the big games will be trailers only, but we can live in hope. More news next week.
