Beginning Friday, November 26, Microsoft will open up Xbox LIVE for a full weekend of Xbox LIVE Gold access without charge.

In addition to access to multiplayer gaming, Xbox LIVE will share Zune music content throughout the course of the weekend, including the latest video from N.E.R.D featuring Nelly Furtado, available for download for the first time – only from Zune during the Free LIVE Weekend. The service will also feature the latest tracks from the hottest artists, including Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Far East Movement.

To take part find the Free LIVE Weekend page in Spotlight on your Xbox 360.

This free weekend appears to be targeting new Xbox 360 owners by highlighting the services beyond gaming, specifically the Zune music service.

It’s also a good chance to get back into multiplayer gaming if you’ve let your Gold sub expire.
