Today Microsoft announced next month’s free four games coming with the Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Gears of War 4, usually £19.99, is up for grabs all through August for Xbox One and will initiate those unschooled among us in Locust slaughtering, ahead of Gears 5. Also on Xbox One is Forza Motorsport 6, but only from August 16 to September 15.
For Xbox 360, Microsoft is offering dungeon-crawling action-RPG Torchlight and grimly dark Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Torchlight is available for two weeks from August 1; then on August 16 till August 31, Castlevania will have its time in the sun. These are both compatible on Xbox One, too.
All this would have theoretically set a budget back by more than £80, but with Xbox Live Gold, that shrinks to a comparatively measly £6.99.
