EA vice president Jeff Karp has spoken on the power of Microsoft’s new console. According to Karp the Xbox 360 is ten times more powerful than the current Xbox. This is certainly not the Xbox 1.5 that the 360 has been dubbed on a number of internet gaming forums.
Karp also revealed to the Washington Post that EA has been working on Xbox 360 titles for more than two years and went on to say that the detail in the 360 version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted is so good that “you can even zoom in and see who makes the brake pad of a car.” Footage of the game was seen during the US airing of the Xbox 360 MTV special and questions were asked about it actually being in-game footage.
Microsoft’s pre-E3 press conference which is scheduled for Monday evening in the US should make the true power of the Xbox 360 a lot clearer, and the first playable games are expected to be at the conference in the following days. We’ll bring you more next week.
