Microsoft has announced that a new update for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player is now available, with users of the drive likely to be prompted for an auto update when they next watch an HD DVD movie.
The update includes “compatibility improvements with certain titles” and “additional support for network features”, although with new output on the format now merely a trickle it’s unlikely you’ll be making much use of the new functionality.
Still, it’s good to see Microsoft continuing to support the player, especially for those who’ve used the dramatic fall of the HD DVD format to their advantage, grabbing dozens of high definition movies at a fraction of the usual cost.
If you’re not able to connect to Xbox LIVE, the update will also be available from Xbox.com.
