A listing on EB Games, although now removed, gave the first insight into a new retro controller for the Xbox 360 from Mad Catz. Called the Live Arcade Retro Stick, the controller looks to feature all the buttons from the normal controller, but with a joystick in place of an analogue stick.
The controller was listed with a price of $69.99, and a very small picture seemed to indicate that it would come bundled with some Microsoft points, several months access to Xbox Live Gold, and some other freebie that was too difficult to decipher.
Back in May 2005 Mad Catz announced an agreement with Microsoft to become an official peripheral licensee for the Xbox 360. At the time the company planned to release a host of peripherals at the launch of the Xbox 360, including game controllers, a dance mat, a steering wheel and a joystick.
We’ll bring you more information on the retro joystick as soon as an official announcement is made.
