A press release coming from Xbox’s Dutch PR firm has revealed a number of previously unknown features about the next Xbox from Microsoft. The press release details how the console will represent “a significant leap to high-definition graphics”, matching the recent information that was revealed about the Xbox 2 hardware.
A lot of details relate to the planned features for the next generation version of Xbox Live, with an online marketplace and personal “Gamer Cards” being highlighted. The latter will give each Xbox user a personalized profile which will remember your preferred settings in games and let people know what kind of gamer you are.
It is expected that J Allard will announce these details at his GDC address this evening. We will report any news from the address as soon as the news breaks.
