World War 1 multiplayer shooter Verdun is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 30, developers M2H and Blackmill Games have announced.

The game was first rumoured for release on console earlier this month after being rated by European classifications board PEGI.

“After a successful PC release we received a lot of questions asking when the game would be available on the Xbox or PlayStation,” said developer Jos Hoebe. “Having Verdun playable on the console was definitely a no brainer for us, though we all agreed that the game needed some fine-tuning to make it compatible for these devices while keeping the authentic gameplay experience.”

Verdun offers three competitive multiplayer game modes set in a realistic WWI setting, including one that requires players to capture and defend trenches, along with a wave-based co-op mode.

The game first released on PC last year following a stint in Early Access. For a look at the console versions, check out the trailer below. Prices have yet to be confirmed.

The release comes two months ahead of EA’s WWI multiplayer shooter Battlefield 1, which launches in October.
