According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (via 411Mania), there’s a “significant chance” of AAA stars joining the WWE 2K26 roster, but the TNA situation is more complicated.
No specific wrestlers are named, but it’s mentioned that it will likely be top and marketable AAA talent. This is just guessing on our behalf, but this suggests likely candidates include Mr. Iguana. Others potentially include Psycho Clown and Pagano, who wrestled the New Day at WWE/AAA Worlds Collide. Another likely possibility is El Hijo del Vikingo, who is AAA’s biggest domesticated star.
Sean Ross Sapp also believes that AAA titles and venues might be added to WWE 2K26. This is because WWE is the parent company of the CMLL competitor. Assuming AAA talent join the WWE 2K series for the time, expect it to happen through a traditional DLC pack that will be purchasable on its own as well as part of the inevitable Season Pass.
Why TNA wrestlers are less likely to join the WWE 2K26 roster
TNA wrestlers are less likely to join the WWE 2K26 roster because WWE and TNA’s relationship is just a partnership, meaning the big E isn’t TNA’s parent company, unlike AAA. Because of this, TNA is its own entity with talent not under contract.
Sean Ross Sapp speculates that Matt and Jeff Hardy are the most likely TNA wrestlers to join. This is presumably because they are historically WWE-based.
We also think Joe Hendry seems likely to join the 2K series for the first time, as he is now officially contracted full-time under WWE. This happened in November, which is usually the cut-off point for the WWE 2K roster, so it’s possible Joe Hendry may be reserved for DLC.
WWE 2K26 is slated to release in Q4 Fiscal 2026, which basically means before March 31 next year. We’ve gotten a brief look at the game as stars begin filming, and so far, it’s all uninspiring to say the least.
AAA and TNA additions to the WWE 2K26 roster would be fantastic, even if it is DLC. The WWE 2K25 DLC was decent with the likes of Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Motorcity Machine Guns, New Jack, Victoria, and Mark Henry, but there was also the disappointment of NBA stars and celebrities like KSI. Unfortunately, we expect more celebrities for WWE 2K26, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Jelly Roll make his video game debut after wrestling at SummerSlam.
