WWE 2K14 will launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 29, 2013, Take-Two has confirmed.
The wrestling title is the first to be published by Take-Two’s 2K Sports label following the acquisition of the license earlier this year, with developer Yukes’ back on board for this year’s game.
Take-Two acquired the rights to the WWE license in February following the collapse of THQ, with sales of last year’s title WWE ’13 “already contributing to [Take-Two’s] results.
“We believe there’s an untapped opportunity to enhance further the performance of this profitable franchise by leveraging 2K’s superb development and marketing resources, which have made our NBA 2K brand an annual hit,” commented CEO Strauss Zelnick.
“Our aim is to put out an A-plus product and give an A-plus marketing that’s utterly consistent with the franchise,” he added. “We think the demographics are sound and growing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
