Bigben Interactive has released the first gameplay footage of WRC 5, the next entry in the rally racing series heading to PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and PC this autumn.
The 3 minute video offers an early look at the game’s Portuguese rally from behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo R WRC, although Bigben warns that, because it’s still in beta, some elements “are not final or are missing”.
“The Head Up display (HUD) or audio and visual pacenotes are not present as teams are still working hard on these points in order to provide the best rally experience ever seen in a videogame,” the publisher says. “Information will come later about pacenotes and how the job has been done to ensure the highest level of precision.”
WRC 5 is currently in development at French studio Kylotonn Games rather than the series’ usual developer Milestone SRL. Kylotonn previously developed last year’s two-wheel racer MotorCycle Club and 2012 hunting sim Hunter’s Trophy 2, and is also working on a new entry in the FlatOut series.
Milestone, meanwhile, is developing Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo, a second rally sim due out this October.
