World War 1 multiplayer shooter Verdun will release for PS4 on August 30, but has seen its release of Xbox One delayed, developers M2H and Blackmill Games have announced.

“Although we would have loved to release Verdun on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at the same time, we regret to inform you that the Xbox One release is postponed,” reads an update from the developer. “We hope to get the game as soon as possible on this great platform. Yet in order to deliver you a true trench warfare experience we need a little more time.

“We take our releases seriously and for this reason made a difficult decision to delay the Xbox One release.”

A new Xbox One release date has not been set.

Released on PC last year, Verdun offers three competitive multiplayer game modes set in a realistic World War 1 setting, including one that requires players to capture and defend trenches, along with a wave-based co-op mode.
