The game will now be known as ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, which apparently stems from the recent worldwide success and enthusiastic reception the game received at E3.

The reaction to the ProStroke gameplay mechanic was so positive that the generic name wasn’t good enough, and so ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 was born.

Continuing with a generic name that had started as a working title short-changed the game. Pro Stroke Golf, on the other hand, puts the game’s greatest feature right into the title, and makes it clear why this is the most interesting golf title this decade,” commented Oxygen’s CEO Jim Scott.

ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Xbox on August 4.
