Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Battle for Azeroth, the next expansion for the 13-year-old World of Warcraft, is launching for PC this summer. Pre-sales are now open and give you the chance to get a taste for the new Allied Races being introduced in the expansion.

These fresh-faced heroes were previously referenced in World of Warcraft’s Legion pack, and you’ll be able to create characters based on them by polishing off quests and earning reputation. Blizzard will release additional Allied Races down the line, but for now there’s four up for grabs: Void Elf, Lightforged Draenei, Nightborne, and Highmountain Tauren.

Not only that, but if you do plonk your cash down early for Battle for Azeroth you’ll be able to grab a level-110 boost for a single character, allowing you to hop right into the action. There’s also two versions of the expansion competing for your cash: The Digital Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition, which retail for £52.99 and £39.99, respectively.

The Digital Deluxe Edition throws in a bunch of extra content in addition to the expansion, such a cache of ‘in-game bonuses’ that lets you display your alliance to the Horde or Alliance across Warcraft, Hearthstone, Starcraft II, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch.

‘Battle for Azeroth brings a whole new dimension to the Horde-vs.-Alliance conflict in World of Warcraft, with a new continent to explore for each faction and brand-new gameplay features like Allied Races, randomized Island Expeditions, and large-scale Warfronts,’ commented Blizzard boss, Mike Morhaime. ‘No matter which side they fight for, players’ dedication to their faction will be put to the test when the new expansion arrives this summer.’

Those of you who want to join in the pre-sale festivities can hit up the official World of Warcraft website.
