Blizzard and Xfire have teamed up to launch “the world’s largest ever machinima contest.” Entrants simply have to create a movie using the World of Warcraft game engine for one of three categories: Comedy, Drama and Dance. Five prizes including AMD Processors and Xbox 360s will be awarded in each category. An additional ten prizes are on offer for special categories, including Best Music, Best Dialog, Best Action Scene, Best Pun or Line, and Best Editing and Special Effects.

Entries must be submitted by January 21, 2006, with the finalists in each category being announced on January 29. Voting will then take place until February 6 and the winners will be announced on February 7. All winning films will be made available for public viewing.
