Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the hit free-to-play game World of Tanks, has announced today that it has signed a deal with Brink and Dirty Bomb developer Splash Damage to develop new gaming experiences set within the Wargaming universe.

In a statement released today, Wargaming commended the UK studio’s ‘passion’ and ‘vast multiplayer expertise’ when announcing the team up. The two companies will work together to enrich Wargaming’s portfolio with ‘new gaming experiences’. Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming, paid particular attention to Splash Damage’s work ethic, saying ‘They’re working incredibly hard to create truly memorable games, won’t stop until everything runs like clockwork’. Didn’t play Brink then, I guess.

Splash Damage’s CEO, Paul Wedgwood, was equally enamoured about the deal, saying ‘The Wargaming universe gives our team a great creative canvas, allowing us to develop a game experience for a massive, loyal following, and we’re extremely excited to get started’. Naturally. Other than noting that there will be a collaboration on projects set in the ‘Wargaming universe’, there were few details divulged about exactly what Splash Damage will be working on. However, the statement did announce that, due to this deal, Splash Damage is now actively hiring at their London based studio.

Splash Damage originally started out in games development as a multiplayer-focused modding team on PC, gaining fame through their hit Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Following this they worked on Doom 3, Quake Wars, and more.

Wargaming is the game developer and publisher of the free-to-play MMOs World of Tanks, World of Warplanes and World of Warships, for PC, Xbox consoles and also PS4. That’s a lot of worlds.
