Sierra has today announced that World in Conflict is to be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this autumn, complete with all-new content.

The console versions, based on the PC original, have been redesigned by Massive Entertainment in conjunction with Sierra’s-own Swordfish Studios with new content for the single and multiplayer modes. This content will also be released for PC in the form of an add-on pack – further details will be announced soon.

“World in Conflict was one of the best games on any platform in 2007 and its innovative action-focused gameplay makes it a perfect fit for the transition to consoles,” said Martin Tremblay, president of worldwide studios, Sierra Entertainment.

We think the PC game is well deserving of its 9/10 score on VideoGamer.com and assuming the port is handled well Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers have every reason to add World in Conflict to their shopping lists later this year.
