Standalone expansion Wolfenstein: The Old Blood sold over twice as many boxed copies on PS4 than Xbox One in the UK, according to figures released by Gfk Chart-Track.
While total sales figures have yet to be announced, 67 percent of boxed copies of The Old Blood were sold on PS4 during its first week, compared to just 27 percent on Xbox One. The game entered this week’s UK All-Formats Chart at No.2.
Though reasons for the sales gap aren’t clear, it may be linked to the delayed announcement of the Xbox One version, which hadn’t initially been due to receive a boxed release.
Bethesda originally announced that The Old Blood would only be available digitally on Xbox One, before adding a physical SKU one month after the game’s announcement. The game was always planned for a physical and digital release on PS4 and PC.
Despite being somewhat shorter, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood left Steve more impressed than last year’s The New Order, comparing it, for some reason or another, to wrestling.
