For those readers not yet aware of the news we thought we would let you know that Sony has recently made available some free downloadable content for the PSP futuristic racer WipEout Pure. Owners of the US version with wireless internet capability can simply access the in game downloads section to get hold of the new content.

This first release called “Gamma Pack 1” contains a new track, a new racecraft and a new skin for the game menus. The new track is Staten Park which is set at night in the green belt of Makana Island and the new craft is a Tigron which is a nice addition to the current craft lineup.

Downloading the 3.5MB content pack is a simple task with only some wireless details needing to be entered in order to begin the download. While the 3.5MB file is only small and will easily fit onto the 32MB memory stick supplied with the value pack, when more content arrives, both for Wipeout (which has been promised) and other PSP games, users may find they need to invest in a slightly larger capacity memory stick.

For those yet to play WipEout Pure why not check out some of our gameplay videos. For those yet to experience the PSP then we also have a video feature available here.
