It remains unclear whether Jeremy Clarkson will return to provide commentary in Forza Motorsport 6 following the Top Gear presenter’s high-profile sacking from the BBC.
VideoGamer.com contacted Microsoft yesterday to ask whether Clarkson had been due to provide voice over work for the upcoming racer, and whether his termination from the BBC had impacted plans for the game.
But in a statement shared with us this morning, a Microsoft spokesperson said:
“Over the years, Top Gear has been a great partner with the Forza Franchise and we’ll have more information to share about ‘Forza Motorsport 6’ later this year.”
Clarkson previously lent his voice to Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Motorsport 5, although Microsoft had yet to confirm whether or not he would be returning to narrate this year’s Forza Motorsport 6.
The Forza franchise also has an extensive relationship with Top Gear, with the Top Gear Test Track and a Top Gear car pack featuring in earlier games.
Clarkson was sacked from the BBC yesterday following an incident with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon earlier this month.
Forza Motorsport 6 is due to arrive exclusively on Xbox One later this year.
