The debut gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda on Wii U was shown during The Game Awards in the early hours of Saturday morning, revealing a vast game world in which Link and his horse Epona can explore.
Game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma walked through some of the new game’s key elements, including its visuals and large game world. Players can pinpoint locations on the map using the Wii U GamePad, too, which in turn creates an in-game beacon to aid navigation.
The video also shows off the gliding Sailcloth and revealed a new intelligent Epona who is now able to avoid trees and obstacles without guidance from the player, making horseback combat possible.
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will launch at some point in 2015.
