Wii U is saved as Minecraft confirmed for December 17

There’s no Star Fox or The Legend of Zelda for Wii U this holiday season, but Wii U fans will soon be able to play Minecraft, Mojang has announced.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be available via the Nintendo eShop from December 17, and includes six content packs, plus Wii U exclusive features such as off-TV play on the GamePad.

  • Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
  • Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack
  • Natural Texture Pack
  • City Texture Pack
  • Fantasy Texture Pack
  • Festive Mash-up Pack

16 other packs will also be available at launch and there is the promise of exclusive collaborative content from Nintendo and Mojang to be released at a later date.
