At the Nintendo E3 2008 media briefing Nintendo’s Cammie Dunaway took to the stage to demo the newly announced Wii Sports Resort which utilises the new Motion Plus accessory.

The first game was a Frisbee title called Disc Dog, and was followed by a Wave Race Mii game demoed by Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America.

With the two bickering it was decided to settle things with a bout of swordplay. Using real-time motion controls the two of them battled in split screen – looks a little like Wii Boxing but with swords.

Nintendo announced that a single Wii MotionPlus accessory is to be bundled with Wii Sports Resort – additional units will be available separately.

The game will launch globally in spring 2009.
