The five sports from the original Wii Sports – bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing and golf – are getting a high definition makeover for Wii U, Nintendo has announced.
Each sport will be released as an individual download via the Nintendo eShop, offering high definition graphics, enhanced controls via Wii MotionPlus, and online multiplayer.
The online multiplayer element is the basis for a new Wii Sports Club, with players to be registered to regional clubs and able to chat with one another via Miiverse during matches. Either play casual games against members of your own club, or take on a rival club member in the hope of increasing your club ranking.
Tennis and bowling will be released on the eShop on November 7, with boxing, baseball and golf to launch in the coming months.
Download Wii Sports Club and you’ll receive a trial pass to play any available games for a 24-hour period from when the game is first started. Once the trial ends you can purchase a Day Pass for £1.79, or make a permanent purchase for £8.99 each.
