MVC reports that the Wii has notched up its most successful week of sales in the UK for the current year, beating the traditionally high Easter period.

The increased Wii sales back up Nintendo’s claims that it is working hard to increase supply to retail channels, with the increased Wii stock being quickly snapped up by Wii-hungry punters.

The week also saw the release of Mario Strikers Charged Football which entered the All Formats Full Price chart at No.3, ahead of Wii Play (No.6), which continues to be a popular choice for Wii owners.
