Since the Wii’s remote was first revealed, Star Wars fans the world over have wanted to know one thing: when will there be a Wii lightsaber game? While details haven’t been confirmed, LucasArts president Jim Ward had some exciting news for fans of the ‘force’, when Gamasutra asked if any such game was underway.
“We’re all over that,” said Ward, “and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there.”
Ward also suggested there would be ‘some stuff out this fall’, though it is unclear whether he meant information or an actual game. There is a possibility the game to include the wireless saber combat could be the Wii version of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, out this autumn, but nothing is yet confirmed.
More of a teasing that any solid facts, but it does look like dueling with Vader and deflecting blaster rifle shots from your living room should one day become a reality.
