The boxed retail release of Wii Fit U will now launch on December 13, one week later than its previously announced December 6 release date, Nintendo has confirmed.

No reason for the delay has been given.

If you have a Wii Balance Board, however, you can access the full game from the Nintendo eShop free for 31 days. To continue playing after that you’ll need to buy the Fit Meter.

The free download will be available until January 31, 2014.
