Call of Duty’s newest hit game Modern Warfare 2 has been out for a few days and the hype around it hasn’t cooled off. Whether fans begin to level up new guns in multiplayer or immerse into the new engaging campaign, Modern Warfare 2 has provided a new form of gameplay that has redefined the level of excellence this franchise can achieve.

Though Call of Duty drops a new game every year, each of their installments only gets that much more complex to create with the evolution of technology and demand for improvement.

That said, Call of Duty hasn’t always stuck with the same developers when producing their next game. For example, Sledgehammer Games developed ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ but Treyarch and Raven Software developed ‘Call of Duty: Cold War.’

So who was in charge for making Modern Warfare 2? We go over the full answer in the section down below.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was published by AcTivision and developed by Infinity Ward. The last time Infinity Ward developed a Call of Duty game was Modern Warfare back in 2019.

Though Modern Warfare 2 is a completely different game, it is the sequel of the 2019 edition and will be home to a revamped battle royale mode (Warzone 2.0). To add to it, Warzone 2.0 will have a variety of influencing parallels to that of Verdansk, the first Warzone map that made its debut in Modern Warfare.

Modern Warfare 2 will mark the ninth Call of Duty title (11th including Warzone and Warzone 2.0) Infinity Ward have created. The gaming developing company has delivered strong results for AcTivision in the past, and following a disappointing outcome with Call of Duty: Vanguard, AcTivision needed one of the best gaming developing companies to come back to the rescue.
